FAQ

  • How do I install my banner?
STEP 1: CLEANING & PREPPING This first step is the most important one! Make sure your surface is free from dirt, grease, residue remains, wax, or other contaminants. Failure to remove wax, grease or gloss protectors may result in the decal not sticking properly. A surface with dirt or dust on it will result in those particles being stuck under the decal and leaving bumps that won’t go away. You can use some water mixed with a few drops of dish soap to help get rid of dirt and dust. Lastly, with a microfiber cloth, you want to wipe your surface down with some isopropyl alcohol. STEP 2: MEASURE YOUR SURFACE & YOUR DECAL Find the center of your windshield and your decal and mark it. Next, place where you want your decal at. Figure out how high or low you want it to be and then make a mark at the bottom on the car window indicating how low your banner will be placed. ***IF YOU ARE INSTALLING A SUNSTRIP BANNER BE SURE YOU HAVE SOME EXTRA VINYL AT THE TOP AND SIDES AND THAT THE DESIGN IS WITHIN YOUR WINDOW SURFACE AREA! *** STEP 3: ASK A FRIEND FOR HELP OR CENTER HINGE IT If you have an extra hand to help you, ask them to hold one side of the decal and peel the backing paper off. If you’re doing this by yourself, place where you want your decal to be on the window using your measurements and markings and take a piece of masking tape and tape it down the middle. Take half of the decal and peel the backing paper and then cut the backing paper off. Make sure the decal doesn’t stick the window surface yet. STEP 4: SPRAY WATER WITH A FEW DROPS OF DISH SOAP Spray some water with a few drops of dish soap with a spray bottle on your decal and on your window surface. Spraying this will act as a lubricant between your vinyl and surface so that you can still lift up your vinyl if you mess up on your placement. Now, lay down your decal using your markings that will guide you to the correct placement. *** IF YOU ARE INSTALLING BY YOURSELF, WHEN YOU ARE SPRAYING, BE SURE NOT TO ACCIDENTLY SPRAY ON THE BACKING PAPER ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE CENTER HINGE YOU MADE*** STEP 5: SQUEEGEE IT DOWN Squeegee down your decal with firm pressure working from the center and out. Be sure to squeegee out all of your water/dish soap mixture. If you are installing by yourself, squeegee down the half that you set down. Once set down, peel the masking tape and backing paper of the other side and repeat STEP 4 & 5. Be sure when you’re squeegeeing down the second side that you work over the side you set down already and then out to ensure you squeegeed the complete surface area. STEP 6: PEEL THE CLEAR MASKING You’re almost done! Peel the clear masking on your decal, wait for a few hours for the decal to dry and it’s done! If you are installing a sun strip banner, you’re not quite finished yet! With a sharp knife (you can use a box cutter knife), carefully trim off the excess vinyl on the sides and the top of your decal. Please be careful with this step as to not cut yourself, your help, or your rubber gaskets! Once this is finished, wait a few hours for the decal to completely dry and you’re all done. Now, go for a drive and show off your new banner!
  • What's the best temperature and weather condition to install my banner?
§ We recommend installing at temperatures between 15°C/59°F – 25°C/75°F. § When the temperature drops below 10°C/50°F, vinyl tends to become brittle and easily broken. When temperatures are above 25°C/77°F, vinyl tend to soften and be too stretchy to work with. As a result, wrinkles in vinyl may occur while installing. § Do not install in windy, rainy or in a dirty or dusty environment. You don’t want any containments that may get stuck under your vinyl and show through due to dirt and dust. In rainy conditions, vinyl will not stick to water. § Please seek a professional or watch videos on YouTube if you are worried about doing the installation properly! We are not responsible for any damage in the decal during or from the installation!
